Your Eyes Are Mine

Your Eyes are Mine tells the parallel stories of two Indian women who are driven apart from their female lovers by the institutions of religion and prostitution.

Prasannamati as a young girl forces her parents to allow her to become a Jainist nun by fasting. She decides to follow her fasting until she dies. Rani instead is forced to a life of prostitution as a young girl. Her friend, mentor and protector Renuka is sent to prison for killing the man that forcefully took Rani’s virginity. Then Rani has a child but she gives the baby away so she’s not destined for prostitution.
